Fashioned after an historical painting, artist Joseph Yznaga Regan used a vintage fashion magazine image of Sophia Loren and painted this stunning portrait in 1980. His attention to detail, including the ornate fine jewelry and lace, are hallmarks of this master artist's style. 

After having Cataracts surgery in both eyes in 2016, Mr. Regan "restored" several of his paintings, including LADY SOPHIA, because he was not happy with the tint of the artworks, saying that his "new eyes" gave him a clearer perception of color.
